An Thríbhís Mhór: The Great Triscele

An Thríbhís Mhór: The Great Triscele (Sea, Earth & Sky)

"The Great Triscele (Sea, Earth, and Sky), whose binding (which is indivisble and may never be broken down to three separate parts) insures the integrity of the cosmos; as an individual binding it ensures slán, and as the penalty for breaking of a geis acts as a whole (the sea rise to drown you, the earth open to swallow you, the sky fall to crush you - v tríbhás)"

3 worlds, 4 elements.

The Great Triscele represents the three plains; Sea, Earth and Sky. Three forces, and a trinity of the respective gods of each plane with its respective realms.

Magh Mhór (Great Plain or Skyworld): Spirit of Creation (Future)
Magh Mel (Plain of Honey, Plain of Pleasure): Inspiration and Creativity
 Magh Ionganaidh (Plain of Wonders)
Sean Magh (Old Plain): Origins and Wisdom
Magh Findargat (Plain of White Silver): Light and Hope
 Magh Imchiunn (Plain of Gentleness)
Magh Muir / Magh Réin (Plain of the Sea)
 Magh Airthech (Plain of Bounty)
Magh Argetnel (Plain of Silver Clouds)
Magh Ildathach (Plain of Many Colors)
Magh dá Cheo (Plain of the Two Mists)

Bith or Mide (Middleworld): Spirit of Being (Present)
Thuaidh (North): Earth: Lía Fail: (The Stone of Destiny)
Siar (West): Water: Coire Dagdae, Undry: (Cauldron of The Dagda)
Oithear (East): Air: Claíomh Solais: (Sword of Light, Sword of Nuada)
Dess (South): Fire: Gae Bolga: (Spear of Lugh)

Tír Andomain (Underworld): Spirit of the Ancestors (Past)
Tír na mBeo (Land of Perpetual Life)
Tír na nÓg (Land of Youth)
Tír na mBan (Land of Women)
Tír fo Thuinn (Land Under the Waves)
Tír Ildáthach (Many-Coloured Land) / an Saol Eile (Otherworld)
Tír na Marbh (Land of the Dead)
 Tech Duinn (Donn’s House)
 Tír Tairnigri (Land of Promise)
Tír na tSamhraidh (Land of Summer)
 Tír-uaine (Green Land)

All plains and realms are hold by the world tree 'Crann Bethadh' (or Crenn Bith) also known as the Tree of Life, equivalent to the germanic Yggdrasil, that connects everything.

"Au dubná ad arduá Qrennon Bitous rosagit. A Belion Noibon, endo moi werbere."

"From the depths to the heights reach the World Tree. O holy tree is growing within me."
